When Akosua Afriyie-Kumi founded AAKS, her main gold was the use of her favourite weaving techniques done by the women of Ghana, while also creating and supporting sustainable jobs in Africa.
AAKS manufactures bags in a style that is faithful to the spirit and durability of their ancestral background characterized by bright bold colours.
The core of AAKS philosophy is a network of thoughts and design structure, which comes from a demanding detail to craftsmanship, legitimacy and ethical values in their production. At the same time, a strong sense of identity and quality are crucial for the image of the brand.
Through attention to detail, colour, and shape, each collection embodies a unique story. AAKS uses organically sourced leather and raffia produced by weavers in the village of Bolgatanga, Ghana.
Akosua herself is active in every step of the design and production process, in order to guarantee that the final result is accurate and representative of the AAKS brand.
