Nigerian-American producer, writer and filmmaker visual artist Ibra Ake won his first Grammy for the “Best Music Video” for producing the Childish Gambino’s controversial music video “This is America.”
The track also won for “Best Rap/Sung Performance,” “Record of the Year” and turn up to become the first rap track in the Grammy history to win “Song of the Year,” making it a total of four Grammy awards for Childish Gambino.
Ake is based in Los Angeles, California, and he is also a writer for the hit TV show “Atlanta,” which also features Childish Gambino.
Reacting to his achievement, Ake happily tweeted saying: “I can’t believe I just won a Grammy. Where’s the catch? Royalty forever.“
