The British-Nigerian singer Sola has a new inspiring music video “Save Yourself,” and it is simply a work of art. Sola is a brand new act emerging of the furious London scene.

Sola calls her music “warped soul,“ a mix of deep voice with futuristic electronic beats and uses her Nigerian roots as a big influence.

Inspirations as Nina Simone and Sade Adu are very present in her vocal style, which is vulnerable yet dark. On the electronic production perspective, there is a strong melancholy and deepness, reminding us of Massiv Attack and Burial.

“Save Yourself“ was directed by Savannah Setten, whose videos captivate visuals through nacked naturalistic performances and mythical surrealism. This video takes us through a black-and-white inner struggle, adopting an afrofuturistic perspective of depression, healing, and self-love.
