Adut Akech Bior grew up in the UN Kakuma Refugee Camp, located in Kenya, between Uganda and South Sudanese borders. The family fled from Narus, South Sudan over the Kenyan border to Kakuma. The family went later to Adelaide, Australia in 2008.
It’s been a spectacular time for Australia based rising star model Akech, who started with Saint Laurent, and afterwards with Karl Lagerfeld and became the second black woman to close a Chanel fashion show. Adut was also in Tim Walker’s 2018 Pirelli calendar, with his first all-black cast.
Dressed in haute couture from know fashion houses such as Dior and Chanel, Adut posed with mother Mary and the rest of her family for the photoshoot in the suburbs home.
Akech also appears on the cover of January British Vogue.
